Common question for week 23

What are Braxton Hicks contractions?

Irregular, usually painless tightenings of the uterus that begin mid-pregnancy. They are practice for labor and typically ease with rest, water and a change of position. Call your provider if they become painful or regular.

Every pregnancy is different. Sizes are averages, symptoms vary widely, and none of this replaces the guidance of your own provider.
